You just have to get out of it’s way. Making healthy choices lends support to your vessel. In my opinion, health has to come before anything or anyone else. Before relationships with your spouse, children, or family. Before work, before friends, before everything. If you don’t have your health, you get sick, and possibly die, how will you have or be able to contribute your best self to all of those other things? Taking care of yourself first, allows you to be free. Take the time to plan your healthy eating choices in advanced, plan time alone, time in nature, to exercise, relax and most importantly, sleep. What ever it is that you need to be your best self.
Make a list of what those things are. Think about how much of it you really need to be enough. Do you need 7 hours of sleep to be your best self? You can do muscle testing to figure out exactly how much is enough for you if you want to get really specific. Find out how to do that here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ex59wHLk3Q0
Once you’ve established your needs, write down what they look like. For example, if you say I need 2 hrs/week in nature to be my best self, what that looks like is gardening, walking in the park with my dog, horseback riding, playing with the kids in the yard, etc. Quality time may look like, spending time with friends or talking to them on the phone. Sex, may include orgasm with your loved one or with yourself! Whatever it looks like for you in order to be whole and complete. Then schedule it in your day timer so you don’t postpone it any longer.
