They Say Knowledge Is Power.

I was recently in Canada, enjoying a beautiful summer and something different than the US that they have there, and in most other countries I visit, is a documentary channel. Two documentaries that stood out were one about measuring the energy of regular food vs. organic food, and how certain foods can cure cancer, which I can’t remember the name of unfortunately, and the other was called “The world according to Monsanto”. ( http://twilightearth.com/environment-archive-2/the-world-according-to-monsanto-full-documentary/ )

I shared the fact that I watched these with numerous friends and I was surprised how many people in Canada knew about Monsanto and how few of my friends in the US new about this corporation.

I’ve heard about them through several different sources. They are mentioned in many documentaries, such as “The Corporation” ( http://freedocumentaries.org/film.php?id=102 ), and “Food Inc.” ( http://www.foodincmovie.com/).

I don’t really know if all that is said in all of these different publications all over the world is the truth. I do know it’s a fact that they were found guilty of bribing scientists in Canada to change data that showed their products caused cancer. It is also a fact that a ton of their employees are in and out of the FDA and have somehow managed to patent 2 of the largest food sources, being corn, and soy beans, and now are waiting to patent every natural food there is under the sun. There are many other facts other than these that just seem to point to being the truth. What do you think?

Something powerful has come out of this for me. It’s inspired me to learn how to grow my own food! I’ve been learning about growing organic vegetables from seeds. I’ve never successfully grown anything from a seed, so I’m not sure how it’s going to turn out. I don’t have a house, I have a big patio with no light, so this may be challenging. I bought a little 4 tier shelf greenhouse and a little seed starter with a light and timer. I set it up on my patio last week and I already have a few seeds!

Being preventative, learning these things now, and knowing that in the future I will not have to rely on anyone but myself to survive and keep my family and friends safe, calms me, makes me feel at peace and makes me feel powerful!
