I believe that passion does not get lost — just abandoned. It’s never too late to find it again. There was a point in my life where I would just got to work, come home, go to bed and do it all over again. When I retired, I didn’t know what to do with myself. I’m a very optmistic person, so you would think that I would have endless opportunities to be passionate about something. For me, that was the problem. There were too many options, too many things I wanted to do. I didn’t know which one to choose! That lead me to finding my life’s purpose. I read books, and took courses, and figured out that my purpose is to inspire others. How I do that is by living my life to the fullest. Living it full of possibilities and taking everything on. I started writing. Then one day a tried a Capoeira class. I am so passionate about both. I tried belly dancing, hip hop dancing, acting, cooking, and a bunch of other things. It turned out that I was not so passionate about those things. Now I’m learning about gardening, I have 3 blogs, I am working on my 3rd book, I’m taking tennis lessons, and they’re all super fun. I think the key to finding our passion again is just to keep trying new things and seeing what we find fun and enjoyable. Something will eventually stick.
Have you tried anything new recently that you found you were very passionate about? How about something new that you gave your best shot, but found it unfulfilling and decided to move on? Leave me a note in the comments!
