The hardest part of starting a new small business when you’re the owner is making sure that you’re going to be able to support your lifestyle in the tough early months. Depending on the size of your venture, this may mean securing funding, or saving enough money to make sure you’re going to be living your normal lifestyle even if the business isn’t paying you enough. Many entrepeneurs go through periods when they’re unable to pay themselves while the business is gearing up. If you’re still employed, though, you have another choice!
Work part time on your new business. You’re doing something you love, something you’re PASSIONATE about, so it will feel great to get out into the world and do what you want to do with your life. Give yourself some jobs or tasks that you can work on during the evening hours, or the weekends, and get started with your new venture, with none of the risk!
