Are you an optimist or a pessimist? Most of us will go through phases in our lives, but I can assure you that optimism even in the face of difficulty and especially in the face of a challenge will absolutely change your life for the better.
Optimists set about their lives with the belief that things will work out according to plan, and when the plans don’t quite match reality, a true optimist will see the subtle changes for their positive nature. It isn’t about changing your view of reality to see everything through rose colored glasses, its about looking at things from a perspective which allows us to see the good in all things. You don’t have to deny that things don’t always work out as planned, but you will be much more successful if you look at the positive aspects of all scenarios, and try to further your goals using those positives that have happened in your life, instead of focusing on the negatives.
Optimists are more likely to have well adjusted mental health, and they’re more likely to have better physical effects as well, like low blood pressure, and less likelyhood for stress related illnesses like heart disease. Positive believing has even been known to cure previously uncurable diseases like Cancer!
Cynicism and its jaded negativity and inherent mistrust (by default!) of other people’s motives can discourage us from the very start of our ambition. If we believe that everyone and everything is out to get us, what incentive do we have to try our best in the face of such desperation? We can always reject cynicism and replace it with trust for others and the world we live in, and even a basic trust in ourselves that even if things don’t work out perfectly, WE are strong enough to overcome anything that the world throws in our path and smart enough to take any advantages we can get along the way.
Optimistic people attract and achieve great things, and all too often cynics give up the game before it ever starts. Nobody ever raised a statue for a cynic. Be optimistic and embrace your positive nature!
