Glyconutrients, what are they and why should I care?

Glocynutrients are a controversial new “vitamin” that has been dubbed many things from the Eight Sugars to the sugars that heal. They’re a group of 8 nutrients that have been linked to optimal wellness, and have really jump started the wellness revolution recently. It appears that these nutrients, while available through natural foods, are so important for cellular repair and communication that unless we revolve our diets around getting these nutrients, we should do our best to supplement our diets simply to get the benefits of these chemicals.

Many of you may be asking “don’t I get enough sugar already? I thought sugar was bad!” Too much sugar IS bad, but as with all things chemical in nature, there are a vast variety of sugars that the body uses, much like proteins.

A little insurance does us all some good. So, grow your own organic food in your backyard, supplement your diet not only with glyconutrients but multivitamins and Omega 3 fatty acids, and more, and don’t worry about missing out on just enough nutrition for your body. While we’re on the subject of wonderful carbohydrates, I want to give you all a little primer on a sugar substitute that is not only very low calorie, but also all natural and about 300x more potent than sugar! Its called Stevia, and its a great low calorie way to satisfy a sweet tooth, even if you’re going to use it in something delicate like cheesecake. Try making a cheesecake with an artificial sweetener like Splenda, and the aftertaste can ruin the dish. Stevia is delicious in comparison, and a little goes a really long way! Another great benefit of Stevia is that its an herb, as you can see in the lovely image to the left, which means it gets absorbed by the body like a vitamin, so insulin spikes can be a thing of the past.
